About Tadakuma Rena

Tadakuma Rena Sensei is a graduate from Japan’s Tokai University, home to many Olympic and world champions such as Naohisa Takato (-60kg world champion), Mashu Baker (-90kg Olympic champion) and Sarah Asahina (+78kg world champion).

She competed under the 70kg category as part of the Tokai Univ. women’s team, which won 2nd place (2019) and 3rd place (2018) in the All Japan University Judo Championship, one of the most prestigious competitions in the country. She was awarded Outstanding Player in the same competition in 2018 based on her match scores.

Tadakuma Sensei’s favorite technique is Ouchi Gari. She is often seen using Ashi Waza, or leg sweeping techniques.
